A New Seat on Life
Some chairs have earned their wrinkles.
Perhaps it's the armchair that's witnessed decades of family stories, the dining chair that's survived countless celebrations, or the Victorian sofa that's still stubbornly refusing to retire. Whatever its history, if the frame is sound, there's every chance it can be given a whole new lease of life.
Traditional upholstery is a craft that's been passed down through generations, and for good reason. Rather than relying on foam and staples alone, each piece is rebuilt using time-honoured techniques and natural materials.
Webbing is stretched by hand, coil springs are tied individually, hessian and stuffing are carefully layered, stitched edges are formed with needle and twine, and every layer works together to create furniture that's beautifully supportive, wonderfully comfortable, and built to last for decades.
It's a slower way of working, but good things rarely happen in a hurry.
Whether your furniture needs a complete rebuild from the frame upwards or simply fresh fabric to replace a well-loved original, every project is approached with patience, precision and a healthy respect for the craftsmanship that came before it. Where possible, we'll preserve the original character of your piece while discreetly strengthening it for modern-day living.
From elegant Victorian armchairs and Edwardian nursing chairs to mid-century favourites and cherished family heirlooms, every piece receives the same level of care and attention. The goal isn't to make it look brand new, it is to make it look like the very best version of itself.
Because furniture with a story deserves another chapter.
